Take Online Learning Offline
For remote, disconnected, or occassionally-connected learning environments
GoCourse Schoolmate is the first product to address the needs of learning in both occasionally connected and disconnected environments to address the requirements of unserved and underserved markets. GoCourse Schoolmate is a self-contained client-server learning system that supports education initiatives in situations and environments with limited or non-existent Internet connectivity.
The product is an extension of the GoCourse platform to address the needs of the 95% of the Earth’s population that falls outside the reach of broadband access. Emerging markets can now enjoy an eLearning experience that isn’t limited because of the unavailability of Internet access.
Product Overview
Built on the same Microsoft-based code as its popular GoCourse Learning System, GoCourse Schoolmate is a complete client-server system that runs “out of the box” when deployed in rural and disconnected environments. Developed with the guidance and support of local clients, partners, and resellers in emerging markets, GoCourse Schoolmate provides a new product option in addition to GoCourse Learning System. Unlike GoCourse Schoolmate, GoCourse Learning System is deployed under a hosted Software as a Service (SaaS) model.
GoCourse Schoolmate provides a solution that promises inclusion and equality by extending their services to schools and institutions that don’t have broadband access and to learners that were previously too expensive to reach.
Deployment Options
The entire system can run on a single laptop computer that includes both the client and the server and allows for multiple accounts for both teachers and students. The system can also be delivered as a computer lab or learning kiosk.
Education is crucial for schools and institutions located in all corners of the globe, and GoCourse Schoolmate is designed to extend the reach of digital learning to the most remote areas. The system then acts as a bridge that will connect those areas to the rest of the world when broadband access becomes available. Instead of waiting for ubiquitous broadband access, schools, organizations, and individual learners can start developing the 21st Century skills and competencies that will allow many of them and entire communities to join and succeed in the global economy today.
