Create courses that sing . . . it that’s how you teach

Do you already have courses to deploy in GoCourse Learning System or are you getting started for the first time? GoCourse has you covered in either case.

Import and Conversion

GLS imports courses from open standards, including SCORM, Common Cartridge, and IMS. Any HTML course content is also easily imported for use in GLS. GoCourse also provides conversion for courses created for Blackboard Basic™. Agilix Professional Services group can also help you convert courses created for use with almost any LMS for use in GoCourse. Agilix Professional Services also provides online learning audits and services to improve existing courses to leverage enhanced functionality available in GLS.

GoCourse Authoring

With GoCourse, instructional designers and faculty can create “master course” content that can be easily published to multiple sections and reused from semester to semester. Content is developed using different course templates for course navigation and activities.

Media-rich content can be easily added to a course—any content that works within standard Internet browsers is fully supported, including Windows Media, Flash and QuickTime. In addition, HTML, Word, PowerPoint, PDF and ZIP files are all supported.

Course authors can view in “real-time” how the curriculum will appear to learners. Unlike other online authoring systems, GoCourse allows authors and designers to switch back and forth between authoring and the learner view easily and efficiently. This minimizes errors that can come from guessing how content will appear. An auditing tool helps the author catch things they may have missed. When curriculum authoring is complete, a single operation publishes the entire course to the server. Web-based systems require the author to upload each individual file through a cumbersome and time-intensive workflow.

Course authoring around learning objectives is fully supported. A list of learning objectives for a course is easily created. Each activity, assignment, and even assessment question can then be tied to one or more learning objectives for the course, which enables reporting for each learner and for the course overall by learning objective.
GoCourse Learning System supports both centralized and decentralized course management. For centralized models, instructional design teams can create master courses, which can then be rolled out to course sections. In this model, faculty members can make custom modifications to their “section content,” which will not affect the master course. For decentralized support, each faculty member is given access to course authoring rights, so that they can create their own learning content. It’s also possible for multiple individuals to work on course content creation, making it easy to create content for courses taught by multiple professors.

GoCourse also supports SCORM 1.2 and 2004 content. This allows you to easily move courses from other systems for use in GoCourse. And your SCORM content can be used as part or all of a course, giving you maximum flexibility.
