Community & Collaboration
Is learning more fun in a commune?
Learner involvement and participation does more than improve engagement. It also extends instruction and remediation through peer mentoring and collaboration. GoCourse supports cohorts of learners within a section (instance) of a course or across sections. Dynamic collaborative communities can also be created based on progress through a course. This lets someone who is working at a slower pace work with other learners who are at the same point in the course as opposed to those who may have started the course at the same time.
Current community features include discussion boards and notifications. Future plans include group collaboration and a model for project-based learning.
Additionally, the open API architecture of GoCourse invites opportunities for integration with existing social networks and other Web 2.0 solutions, such as wikis and blogs.
